''Even 20 takes won't change Bala's reactions''

During a recent promotional event to promote his latest Paradesi, lead actor Atharvaa said that the trait that he admired the most in director Bala was his patience and quest for perfection. It seems even if an actor required up to 20 takes, Bala wouldn’t get worked up as he constantly pursues the perfect shot from his actors.

Atharvaa also talked about the discipline that Bala enforces in his sets and the control that he has over his unit. It seems, just by hearing the sound of Bala’s approaching car from a distance, the entire unit would be in a state of pin-drop silence. Such was the respect and fear that they had on their director.

High Court sends legal notice to Gautham Menon

We had earlier reported about the alleged rift between Gautham Menon and RS Infotainment. The latter had supposedly filed a case against Gautham menon and P Madan of Escape Artistes Motion Pictures, reportedly demanding the return of the advance money of Rs. 4.25 crores, the duo had received from RS Infotainment for making a film with Suriya in the lead.

The case was presented recently before the High Court Chief Justice R Sudakar. After hearing the case, the Chief Justice has ordered to send a legal notice to director Gautham Menon.

Inside scoop on Gautham Menon-Suriya project !

The scoop that we are getting with respect to the upcoming Gautham Menon-Suriya project is that the team has just gone through the formalities of registering the project’s title.

A fly on the wall reveals to Behindwoods that the chosen title is apparently ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’. Other details with regard to cast and crew are yet to be finalized. A formal announcement on this is yet to be made.

Reports are also suggesting that the film may go on floors from May this year but we will have to wait and see as Lingusamy who too has signed Suriya and Samantha for a film has plans of commencing his schedule as soon as the star completes duties for Singam 2. We will keep you posted!

Jiiva, his Nanban times and the Earth Hour 2013!

Actor Jiiva has joined hands with WWF-India and has rendered his support to the Earth Hour 2013, supposedly the largest global environment movement.

While talking during the event, Jiiva expressed his enthusiasm in joining hands with WWF-India for a noble purpose. He hopes that the initiative would inspire more individuals to become more aware about their responsibility towards the environment.

He also recollected an interesting incident during the shooting of Nanban, when people in a particular village switched off all their lights to observe the Earth Day.

This year’s initiative is about shifting to renewable energy and the Earth Hour will be observed on 23rd March, 2013, between 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm.

'Yaaro Ivan' sets a new 'first' on iTunes India"

Siddharth’s Udhayam NH4 is making all the right noises ahead of its release in the coming weeks. First, the theatrical rights of the movie were acquired by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies and now a song from the movie 'Yaaro Ivan' has bagged the honor of being the 'single of the week' on the iTunes India list. This is the first time a Tamil song has managed this feat.

Yaaro Ivan is a beautiful melody rendered and composed by G.V.Prakash along with his fiancée Saindhavi and Udhayam NH4 features newbie Ashrita Shetty opposite Siddharth.

Ultra-modern Anjali

Anjali has a slew of films lined up, gearing for release and one of them will feature her in a never seen before avatar. In Settai, the Delhi Belly remake, Anjali plays the role of a journalist named Shakti and a total overhaul in make-up and costume was required to suit her character which is that of an ultra-modern girl. Anjali says she had been taking cues from leading female journalists to prepare for the role.

Meanwhile, another one of her films Vatthikuchi is set for release this Friday. Contrary to her character in Settai, in Vatthikuchi Anjali plays a middle class girl who is shown as an upper class aspirant and tries to groom herself accordingly.

Vatthikuchi is produced by Fox Star studios and is directed by Kinslin with Dhileban being introduced as the hero.

What is Jilla ?

Vijay recently launched his next project Jilla in the company of producer R.B Choudhary from Super Good Films among other important guests assembled at the function. Vijay was noted saying that he had been acquainted with the film’s director Nesan during the filming of Velayudham. He said that he was particularly impressed with his script and agreed to do the film. He was pleased to announce that Mohan Lal too was extremely impressed with the story and hence agreed to be a part of the project.

Talking about the film’s title, director Nesan says that Jilla is not only a term used to signify a particular area or territory but in down south Tamil Nadu it is a colloquial term referring to the leader of a group. Interestingly, Vijay’s current project, Thalaivaa, too carries a similar meaning with its title.
