AR Murugadoss signs deal with Fox Star Studios

After the success of his Hindi movie Ghajini with Aamir khan, Muragadoss is recieving his much deserved recognition. He has signed a multi-film, multi-crore deal with Fox Star Studios, a production and distribution joint venture between Hollywood studio Twentieth Century Fox and media major Star Group.

Sources add that with this deal, Murugadoss will make several Tamil films for Fox Star, the first two of which are rumoured to be budgeted at a whopping Rs 60 crore. While the distribution will be handled solely by Fox Star, the producer-director will select the scripts for the films and have total creative control over them.

Muragadoss has said that he’ll promote new talent in the Tamil Industry with this partnership. “Tamil films are next only to Hindi movies in popularity, and we are delighted to be accessing this growing segment through this deal with Murugadoss, one of the most successful writer-directors in Kollywood and Bollywood” said Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios India.

Dhyan enters Kollywood

Dhyan also known as Sammir Dattani(Bollywood) and has acted in seven Hindi films ( Uff Kya Jaadu Mohabbat Hai, Corporate, Pyar Mein Twist, Mukhbir, Life Mein Kabhie Kabhie etc) is now acting in Kutty along with Dhanush and Shriya Saran. He is a well known face in the kannada film industry making his entry with Kannada hit Nanna Preethiya Huduge.


He has delivered several hits in Kannada including Amruthadare, in which Amitabh Bachchan made a guest appearance. He is now entering kollywood with Kutty which is being directed by Jawahar, who made Yaaradi Nee Mohini. The movie is loosely based on telugu hit Arya. Danush, Dhyan and Shriya play college students.

Arun Vijay’s forthcoming film ‘Malai Malai’. The audio launch of Malai Malai moive was a grand affair and a mix of the modern and traditional at the Sathyam Cinemas. Surya himself appeared for launching the audio of ‘Malai Malai’.

Our traditional kuthuvilakku was lit by Arun Vijay’s mother and other family members. Later couple of songs, a stunt sequence and trailer of the film was screened. Kalaipuli Sekar, Vijaykumar, VC Guhananthan, Paneerselvam, Sivasakthipandian and Jananathan were also present for the occasion and wished Arun for the success of this film.

Malai Malai movie is produced by his father-in-law Dr Mohan. The Malai Malai movie features Vedika opposite Arun Vijay, Prabhu, Prakashraj, Santhanam and Ganja Karuppu would be seen in a prominent role. Malai Malai movie directed by A Venkatesh.

Director Selvaraghavan: ‘It is the most difficult genre to work on. Well, I felt more comfortable while penning the script. But things were much on contrastive grounds as I stepped onto the floors. Filming this project with 2000 junior artists from various regional backgrounds was the most risky bet that a filmmaker can go through.’
Also added, ‘Shooting this flick for a long time doesn’t the film’s duration would exceed three hours!!!’ The most surprising part was to hear that running time is merely 120mins. “Although, the genre of Fantasy-Adventure is far-famed in World Cinema, it’s something new to Tamil film industry has none have attempted here.’
Earlier the film’s budget was planned to be Rs. 15Crores and finally it mounted up for an unexpected number of 32Crores. Cinematographer Ramji’s each and every frame would surely get audiences feel that it’s a top-notching endeavor that none have attempted.

Karthi: ‘As soon I completed Paruthiveeran, it was a call of surprisal from Selvaraghavan who had plans about making a romance film with me. Later, he found it be clichéd and geared up for this unparalleled genre. It’s a beautiful film that will entertain audience from every class and especially kids would enjoy watching this.’
Andrea: ‘It isn’t just a film for me, but a revival of my life in film career.’

Music Director G.V. Prakash: ‘As the film’s genre happens to be new, the music too will be innovatively different. We’ve tried using some of the ancient instruments from World Music. The Album has 10 songs and additional features would be the background score.’

Parthiban: ‘I am not supposed to reveal about my characterization and indeed hadn’t performed such an interesting role earlier in my films.
