In Yogi movie Ameer is in the male lead and popular actress Madhumitha has been roped in to play his ladylove. Ameer provides Story, Screenplay and Dialogues and Director Subramania Siva is the director of Yogi. Yogi music is composed by Yuvan shankar raja.
The movie Yogi is said to made at a budget of 12 crore and expected to be a deepavali release. The action sequences in the movie are shot on par with a Hollywood movie. Two of the fights in the movie have been shot for 51 days and were high risk ones for everyone involved.
The main story is based on the slum area in Chennai and extensively shot in the slum area. Ameer put in a lot of effort for the movie by reducing his weight with regular gym exercises so that he can suit the role better.
Yuvan has composed songs for the movie with one tune being that of a old song, but with new lyrics. Ameer has lent his voice for one of the songs in the movie. Lyricist Snehan will also be seen in a character role as Ameer’s friend in the movie.
