Sivakumar Charitable Foundation and Agaram Foundation have been rendering yeomen service the field of education.
Veteran actor Sivakumar, the founder of the charitable trust, speaking at a function organised by the trust to present cash awards to Plus Two toppers said that he decided to sponsor the education expenses of Sri Lankan Tamil students, who are staying at refugee camps in the State.
He asserted that efforts would be taken to reach students in the refugees camps, who are pursuing studies despite all hardships. Speaking on the occasion, actor Suriya said he had established Agaram Foundation, an organisation to help students, inspired by his father Sivakumar. Sivakumar’s younger son (Paruthiveerabn fame) Karthi, daughter Brinda and Jayashri of Agaram Foundation took part in the function.
A total of 30 students were presented Rs 10,000 each on the occasion.
