Comedian Vivek has bagged the prestigious Padma awards this year. He is one among the list of 14 eminent personalities who have been chosen for the padmasree award this year. Writer Jayakanthan, singer Arun Sairam, retired civil servant, journalist and eminent Tamil epigraphist Iravatham Mahadevan, noted documentary film maker Subrahmanyam Krishnaswamy, Pondicherry University vice chancellor J A K Tareen, industrialist Arunmugam Sakthivel, well known cardiologist Dr S Thanikachalam, physician P R Krishna Kumar, geriatric surgeon Dr R Sivaraaman and Dr Shaik Khader Noordeen, who has been associated with leprosy elimination.
The social messages that the actor/comedian Vivek conveyed in most of his comedy tracks has not gone unseen. Vivek who is well known for the social messages on environment pollution, global warming, dowry harassment, female infanticide, unemployment, conservation of energy etc in his comedy track.
