Powerstar Srinivasan is actually a barber

Powerstar Srinivasan plays a barber in the upcoming film Naalu Ponnu Naalu Pasanga. MS Baskar also plays a pivotal role and of Powerstar’s love guru. The film is being shot in Madurai and Siranjeevi Aneesh is directing it.

Nellai Siva, Aarthi, Nancy, Ramachandran, Sundari, Veera and Riaz Khan are part of the project too. Talking about the project, Powerstar says, “Love not only unites two souls. It brings all people together. That’s what director Siranjeevi has attempted to convey through this film.”

Kochadaiyaan finalised!!!

The debutante director and the heir of Superstar Rajinikanth, Soundarya Ashwin, has ‘locked’ her film, Kochadaiyaan, starring Rajinikanth, Deepika Padukone, Sarath Kumar, Shobana, Jackie Shroff and Aadhi. Soundarya Ashwin, Rajinikanth, KS Ravikumar and the other key techies of the film watched the film yesterday, 28th February 2013.

Soundarya in her social media page exclaimed that everyone loved the film and Rajini himself has approved the final copy. To quote the director- “One of THE most important days of my life.Kochadaiyaan locked. Appa and KS Ravikumar uncle watched the entire movie and r thrilled!”

The film is expected to be a summer holidays' treat and the music scored by AR Rahman is expected to hit the stores in April.

Karthi leaves Biriyani

Karthi who had been very busy shooting for Venkat Prabhu’s Biriyani has supposedly shifted focus on his other highly anticipated project ‘All in All Azhagu Raja’ with director Rajesh. It looks like Biriyani’s schedule at the moment may not require Karthi’s presence and therefore the actor was able to shift roles. Also the fact that both projects are being backed by his home production Studio Green would have made things easily viable.

‘All in All..’ will see Karthi and Kajal working together again after Naan Mahaan Alla and also Santhanam, the constant of any Rajesh film. The first schedule is likely to commence in the first week of March at Kutralam and Karthi is expected to return to Venkat Prabhu’s camp sometime in April.

Meanwhile, there have been rumours suggesting creative differences between Karthi and Venkat Prabhu on the sets of Biriyani, but Venkat Prabhu’s brother and an integral member of the team, Premgi, has rubbished such news and claims that all’s well within the unit.

There won't be a third Vijay in Thalaivaa

The buzz was pretty high at one point of time that singer Vijay Yesudas was a part of director Vijay’s Thalaivaa featuring actor Vijay. This Vijay trio was talked about with much excitement but now the singer has come out and clarified that he is not a part of this film.

But the talented singer is nevertheless open to acting roles if something interesting comes up and he is scouting for such offers in the Tamil industry. Meanwhile, his singing career is going great guns what with such hits as the recent Chithirai Nila from AR Rahman’s Kadal.

Vijay gets Superstar title!

Films using Superstar Rajinikanth’s blockbuster titles are becoming commonplace now, but an upcoming Kannada film has chosen to keep the Superstar’s name itself as the title. Kannada hero Vijay’s latest film will be called ‘Rajinikanth – The Superstar’.

While one imagines this to be a biopic of sorts since Rajini spent many years in Karnataka, the makers are quick to deny that. They say that the hero’s name in the movie is Kanth while the heroine, played by Anita Rao, is called Rajini and hence the title.

The producer of the film, Prassad, finds the title sentimental as his parents too have Rajini and Kanth in their names and the hero is thrilled to be part of a film named after the one and only Superstar.
