Tamanna steps into Nayantara’s shoes!!


Nayan`s loss is Tamanna`s gain. Since the time Nayantara officially walked out of Paiyya, Linguswamy`s next venture, the crew of the film has been on the lookout for a right replacement for the lead actress role. Many big names including that of Trisha was considered but looks like the director has zeroed in finally on Tamanna.

Directed by hit filmmaker N. Linguswamy, Paiyaa stars Paruthiveeran Karthi in the lead role and is produced by Subash Chandra Bose. Earlier the industry was abuzz with news that with the current economic conditions, director linguswamy wanted Nayan to take a pay cut but Nayantara decided to skip the movie.

Tamanna has been steadily climbing the ladder since her Kaloori in Tamil. She currently has Ayan, Anandha Thandavam, Padikathavan in Tamil and Koncham Ishtam Koncham Kastam in Telugu.

Poo, Subramaniapuram and Anjathey in CIFF


Poo, Subramaniapuram and Anjathey are among the Tamil movies to be screened in the Chennai International Film Festival(CIFF) to be held from 17 to 26 December. The Tamil Nadu government has sanctioned an amount of 25 lakh rupees for the sixth edition of Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF).

As many as 110 films from 34 countries will be showcased in the festival. Woodlands, Symphony and South Indian Film Chamber theatre will be the venues for showcase of films. A free print of many of the films is being made available to the MGR Film and Television Institute. Registration fee is Rs 500 for the public and Rs 300 for students. Five shows will be screened in every theatre, and the schedule will be posted on, chennaifilmfest.org , five days in advance.
