A neat and short Vaaranam Aayiram!!

Vaaranam Aayiram which released last weekend had the major complaint that the second half was lengthy and felt like a documentary. Following this Gautham Vasudev Menon has gone ahead and cut some scenes in the movie to make it neat and short.

The movie Varanam Aayiram features Simran, Divya Spandana and Sameera Reddy as the heroines. The tale is about a goody-goody relationship between father and son. Harris Jeyaraj’s songs have already become chart-busters; his background score gels well with the movie.

Hero Surya after his role in Vaaranam Aayiram, will be seen next in Ayan.

Kadhal 2 Kalyaanam next for Divya

After Vaaranam Aayiram, Divya Spandana will be next seen in the movie Kadhal 2 Kalyanam with Shahir. Wondering who Shahir is?. He is the brother of Actor Arya. Kadhal 2 Kalyaanam will be directed by Milind Rau, Maniratnam’s first assistant, for movies like Guru, Yuva and Kannathil Muthamittal. The movie will be produced by Mirchi Movies.

Divya Spandana who was introduced to Tamil audiences through the film ‘Kuthu’ has been making quite a decent stride tasting success with the films ‘Giri’ and ‘Polladhavan’ and the recently released Vaaranam Aayiram.

Terminator in Kollywood

Ayngaran International and director Jananathan have managed to rope in the 6ft 5inches Austrian giant Roland Kickinger to play the all-important villain’s role in Jayam Ravi’s action adventure Peranmai, being shot in the beautiful green Vagamon in Kerala and Dindigul and Kuttralam areas in Tamil Nadu.

Wondering who this Roland Kickinger is? He is the replacement for Arnold Schwarzenegger, currently the California Governor, who was earlier the most popular action hero in Hollywood, acting in mega hits like the Terminator series. Roland is now playing the role of Cyborg T-800, made famous by Arnold, in the new Terminator Salvation (Terminator 4) releasing as the big summer release in May 2009 in the US.

Like Arnold, he is not only from Austria but also a body builder and won the Mr Universe title in 1995 and then moved over to Hollywood where he has done 20 odd films. Says Jananathan, who kept the participation of the Hollywood action hero a secret, “Roland is truly a top Hollywood action hero, and to have him as a part of Peranmai is a dream come true. One of the highlights of the film is the superb, action scenes between Jayam Ravi and Roland.” Source: timesofindia.indiatimes.com
