Sathyam to hit screens on Independence Day

With the shooting complete and the movie into its pre-production work, Vishal and Nayantara starrer Sathyam is all set to hit the screens and the buzz is that it will release on August 15th, Independence Day.

Vishal, known for his hard work and tremendous acting abilities is doing every stunt himself and has jelled very well with the stunt team to bring about a compelling intensity to the action part. Kannada Actor Upendra who plays the baddie is a refreshing change to Kollywood which is badly in need of a good villian. The Rs. 22 crore budget bilingual in Tamil and Telugu (Salute) produced by Vikram Krishna and directed by Rajasekhar was shot extensively in Chennai, Ladakh, Rajahmundry, Hyderabad, Kurnool and Tenkasi.

Craig Mumma, who has worked in Hollywood flicks like Mummy and Matrix has handled the graphics. A 3-minute comic scene shows Nayanthara and the kids like Tom and Jerry. The music by Harris Jeyraj is also said to be the highlight of the film. The film will simultaneously be released in Telugu as Salute. Heroine Nayantara is on the career high, with stylish her Kuselan stills also rocking the whole of Kollywood.

Jagan Mohini Movie Photo Gallery

As the pachyderm decked in a motley-hued appliqué cloth strolled down, leading a pack of denizens wearing different sorts of headgears, and the chariot carrying the crown prince and his consort, the onlookers had an opportunity to witness a scene shot for Tamil movie ‘Jagan Mohini’ at Kallazhagar Temple at Alagarkoil near here. They were engulfed with a feeling of being transported to the days of yore.

None could forget the magic behind the title (Jagan Mohini) of a 1978-flick. The dubbed version of Telugu movie virtually took the Tamil film industry by storm.

After innumerable shouts of “Start…Camera…Action…” and “Cut…” the director of the film, N.K. Viswanathan, justified the choice of subject.

“It is one of my dream subjects. It took 25 years to make it happen. But I have to make it sure that other than the title and some of the characters nothing in the film will resembles the earlier movie,” he said.

Quite a challenge

Producer of the film, H. Murali, exuded confidenc in his new venture. “Decision to do a historical itself proved to be a big challenge for me. I am of the firm belief that the plot and screenplay will make this movie a success.”

Narasimha Raju, who performed the role of the hero in the old movie, also has a part to play as the father of the hero, Raja, in this film. while a gorgeous looking Namitha performs the character did by Jayamalini.

Nila seems to be a perfect fit for the role of the prince’s consort.

Once into the shoot, one could realise how difficult it is to make a historical film. The director made sure that right from the footwear to the objects present on the field reflected the period of the film.

Probably for the first time, Ilayaraja, who has done the music score for the movie, visited the shooting spot at Tirumalai Nayak Palace here, where the puja for the film was held recently. Source: Hindu

Villu Movie Photo Stills

ACTOR Vijay will enter his 35th year this Sunday . While meeting him on the D-Day is reason enough to cheer his fans, the actor seems to have yet another plan up his sleeve. He will unveil the flag for his Akila Indiya Vijay Rasigar Narpani Mandram on that day.

If that wasn’t interesting enough, the flag that the Ilaya Thalapthy launches will bear a striking similarity to the one that Rajini’s fans have for their association. While Rajini’s flag had Light Blue, White and Red with the Superstar’s image imprinted in a star in it, Vijay’s flag is said to be in Light Blue and White with Vijay’s face over it.

Likewise, another actor to have a fan club flag was Vijayakanth, who later used it as his party’s flag. The same goes for Sarath Kumar too and this new move by Vijay has, expectedly , raised eyebrows about his political aspirations.

With over 45 movies spanning 16 years in kollywood, Vijay had the lover boy tag attached to him until Thiru malai happened in 2003. Establishing him further as a hero the next year was Ghilli, directed by Dharani which went on to become a blockbuster. From then, the actor went from strength to strength, with hits like Thirupaachi, Sivakasi and Pokkiri, which came to soar his career after a dud Aathi.

The Ghilli crew joined hands once again to recreate the Ghilli magic but didn’t quite succeed in Kuruvi, which is his latest release. The actor has just begun work on his next project, Villu, along with Nayantara directed by Prabhu Deva.

Currently in Salakudi, shooting for Villu, Vijay is expected to flow to Chennai on Sunday morning to celebrate his birthday with fans. The birth day will end with a grand celebration on Sunday evening at 4.30 pm at the University of Madras, Centenary Hall. The actor is expected to unveil the fan club flag and announce other welfare activities that will be undertaken by his fan club in phases.

Vijay had earlier announced that he will build wedding halls in different parts of the state and now, he will launch the fan club flag. The ever-reticent actor might never intend getting into politics after all, and might just have wanted to mobilize fans after two box officer bloopers, but the talks about his political aspirations will sure not cease anytime now.
