Vadivelu plans to rock Madurai in April

With news about Vadivelu’s possible comeback to Tamil cinema with a grand period film about Tenali Raman, the comedian’s fans are an optimistic lot. Now, we hear that he is planning to conduct the marriage of his elder daughter in Madurai on April 7th.

He is looking to make this event a ‘one of a kind’ experience and is doing all the necessary arrangements to make it unforgettable.

The invitees list for this marriage is expected to include the topmost politicians and film stars. Looks like the ‘Vaigai Puyal’ is making a roaring comeback both on the personal and professional front.

Sun Pictures is back in the fray with Sasikumar

Director Sasikumar seems to have put his directional duties on the backburner for the moment as he’s got his hands full with projects where he’s been signed as the hero. One such film is Kuttipuli, that’s being directed by newcomer Muthaiah.

Word is that Sun Pictures have acquired the film for a lump sum from Village Theatres production company. They are aiming for a release in April, which could prove strategic as the competition during that period is expected to be mild. Sun Pictures from their end would ensure to ramp up the promotions.

It must be noted that post 2011 with movies like Mankatha and Vedi, Sun Pictures went into a dormant phase and now they are expected to come back to what they do best - picking and choosing their movies and making them commercially viable on the strength of their marketing muscle.

Aadhi Bhagavan is censored and confirmed for release on

Ameer’s Aadhi Bhagavan is finally releasing on February 22nd, after being in the making for more than 2 years. The film has also been censored and it has come out with an A certificate probably because of the theme which centers on gangsters and violence.

Jayam Ravi and Neetu Chandra have invested so much time and effort into the movie and they would be expecting all their efforts to pay off handsomely when the movie releases. Yuvan’s music has already attracted his fans and post the movie, it is expected to pick up even more.

The movie has been made on a big budget and with the A certificate, it won’t have the entertainment tax rebate. So that looks like a small bottleneck for the commercial prospects of the movie.
