Tamil Cinema’s Golden Boy – Kamal Hassan


Its been a memorable journey from Kalathur Kannamma to the most recently released Dasavatharam, for Tamil Cinema’s Golden boy, Kamal Hassan.

Kamal Hassan debuted in 1959 as a child artiste in Kalathur Kannamma, with his most famous song “Appavum Neeye Ammavum Neeye”. The grown up Kamal did some supporting roles in movies directed by his mentor K. Balachander. He won regional filmfare award for his Malayalam Movie Kanyakumari.

A breakthrough as lead in Tamil Cinema came for Apoorva Raagangal. After that there was no looking back and has been a golden jorney since his first debut. His movies like Moondram Pirai, Ek Duje Ke Liye, Sagara Sangamam, Swathi Muthyam, Punnagai Mannan, Apoorva Sagodharargal, Nayagan are immortal gems.

Kamal Hassan is the most versatile actor willing to experiment in each and every one of his movies. The roles in Apoorva Sagodarargal(as a dwarf), Micheal Madana Kama Rajan(4 roles), Pushpaka Vimanam(No dialogs) and his most recent Dasavatharam(10 roles) took him step by step to the heights of versatility.

Endhiran song on the net – Team fumes

Director Shankar and Super Star Rajinikanth are upset with the song/dance that has been leaked on the internet. The video which is on the youtube has got a 23,911 views when we last checked. The video shows Rajinikanth and Aishwaryarai dancing to one song in Enthiran. In another song we see dancers rehearsing. The songs composed by A.R Rahman can be heard in the background.

This has the whole team fuming. But looks like the video does not voilate the copyright infringement and hence cannot be taken down from the internet.

‘Endhiran’, a Rupees 120 Crore flick is produced by Sun Pictures. It was earlier produced by Ayngaran International and EROS International but with the cost exceeding above the line, Sun Pictures took over the production work.

“I am really happy that director Kannan has polished certain blatant flaws of ‘Jab We Met’” said Imtiaz Ali who was present here today morning launching the audio of ‘Kanden Kadhalai’… “Not all filmmaker accept their flaws and Imtiaz Ali is an elision. I earnestly salute him for his enchanting nature” said filmmaker Cheran.
Audio for ‘Kanden Kadhalai’ was launched at Satyam Cinemas in presence of top-charting celebrities of film industry. Much specifically, five renowned filmmakers who struck well with awe-inspiring flicks: K.V. Anand for ‘Ayan’, Susindhran for ‘Vennila Kabadi Kulu’, Vikram Kumar for ‘Yaavarum Nalam’, Pandiraj for ‘Pasanga’ and Samuthirakani for ‘Nadodigal’ were honored pertaining to ‘Celebration of Tamil Cinema’.

Producers Council President Ramanarayanan launched the audio while Imtiaz Ali, director of ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Love Aaj Kal’ received the first copy. Bharath, Thamannah, Munna, director Kannan, cinematographer PG Muthaiah, music director Vidhyasagar and other members of ‘Kanden Kadhalai’ crew were present.

The occasion commenced with the screening of three songs…

How their shared intrest, love of samethings and friendship slowly blossoms into love forms the core of the movie.
