One more NRI lass is making her entry into Kollywood and this time, the lady is from New Zealand. What’s more, the actress, Uttara, may well be the first heroine to have acted in a Tamil movie, without having set foot in Tamil Nadu at all!
The movie, titled Aridhu Aridhu, being directed by K R Mathivanan (a former associate of director Shankar), has been shot in Australia.
Says Mathivanan, “Ninety per cent of the movie has been shot in exotic locales around Australia and I hired technicians from Hollywood to shoot some heart-stopping chase sequences in the heart of Melbourne city.”
The movie will also feature Harish, another debutant. Thaman S has composed the music for the film while fashion designer Nazia Syed has designed the costumes. Dr.Kalaignar in Ponner Sankar Movie Launch Invitation
Thyagarajan is working on producing the film Ponner-Sankar which is based on the novel by Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi. The big budget film, with an initial estimated cost of Rs 40 crore, is slated for a formal launch in Chennai on July 12. Thiagarajan is producing the film under his home banner, Lakshmi Shanthi Movies. While Karunanidhi will take care of the story, screenplay and dialogues, Thiagarajan will direct the movie.
