Ajith is all set to commence his next project Asal directed by Saran with whom he has given three hits earlier. The new flick is produced by actor Prabhu under Sivaji films. Sameera Reddy is slated to act opposite him. Harris Jayaraj is composing the music. Ajith’s new look for the film Virumandi Kamal was revealed as the actor attended a public function recently.

Vikram`s singing achievement!!

Versatile actor Vikram has gone on to become a singer with his latest film Kanthaswamy. Music director Devi Sri Prasad has persuaded Vikram to lend his voice for four out of six of his compositions and Vikram enacts the same on screen. After M K Thyagaraja Bhagavathar, this is perhaps the first time that an actor has voiced for all of his songs in Tamil cinema, said director Susi Ganesan.

Initially Vikram had agreed to do just one song, but his work was so good that music director Devi Sri Prasad decided to make Vikram sing for all the 4 songs that the actor appears in. Vikram has sung Poda Podi, Excuse Me Mr. Kanthasamy, Kuchi Mittai and Mania in both Telugu and Tamil.

The film Kandasamy is simultaneously being shot in Tamil and Telugu. With actress Shreya acting opposite Vikram, the movie has been titled Mallanna in Telugu. Vikram is apparently playing a kleptomaniac in the film, due to which he undergoes some problems. Veterans Thotta Tharani, A. S. Laxmi Narayanan and Vairamuthu, winners of nine National Film Awards between them, take care of the art direction, audiography and lyrics respectively.

Silambarasan is on the roll again with his next movie Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya with Gautham menon. Simbu riding on the success of Silambattam, is said to be puting in extra efforts to make this movie a blockbuster. Trisha is said to be pairing opposite Silambarasan in this movie and this will be an intresting pair combination. Trisha and Simbu pair were seen previously on silver screen in the film Alai.

Simbu celebrated his birthday last week on Feb 3rd. Wishing the little superstar a successful year ahead.

Nayan`s ban lifted

Nayantara is a happy lady again as the Tamil Film Producers Council and the South India Film Actors Association has lifted the ban imposed on Nayan on 7th February. Sources add that an amicable settlement has been reached and hence that the ban is revoked. The TFPC and Nadigar Sangam have conveyed earlier to their members, the producers not to sign her for any future films.

It is not yet clear if Nayan has agreed to repay the money to Payya producer Subash and director Lingusamy. Nayanthara amidst all these was in chennai for the photo shoot of Aadhavan. This sets to rest the rumours in industry circles that Nayan has been thrown out of the project. She also attended Prabu`s daughters wedding reception.

Kavya enters into wedding bliss

Malayalam actress Kavya Madhavan tied the nuptial knot with Nishal Chandran at the Mookambika Temple in Kollur on February 5. Kavya, has seen been seen in Tamil movies in her roles in Kasi and Sadhu Miranda and many other Malayalam movies.

The marriage rituals were conducted by the chief priest of the temple, Govinda Adiga in the presence of the close relatives of the couple.A wedding reception will be held at Le Meridian, Kochi on February 9th for her friends from the film field. Another separate reception will be organized for her relatives at her native place, Neeleswaram in Kasargod on the 12th of February.
